Planning and Zoning Meeting

MINUTES

April 26, 2018

6:30PM

 

Presiding over the meeting was Chair Ryan Barrett. In attendance were Planning and Zoning Members Marsha Sheets, Rick Vaida, and Marvin Moore. Megan Reid – City Clerk was recording secretary. Member Jill Williams was absent.

Agenda Item 1. Approval of March 2018 Porterdale Planning and Zoning Board Minutes

Motion 1 – was made by Marsha Sheets to approve the minutes as written and was seconded by Rick Vaida

 

Motion passed unanimously.

 

Agenda Item 2. Debrief from the Great American Clean Up


City Clerk Megan Reid updated the Board of the successful event.

 

Agenda Item 3. Public Hearing for the consideration of Porterdale Zoning Ordinance amendment to allow sexually oriented businesses in Light Industrial Zoning Districts.

 

Public Hearing opened by Chair Ryan Barrett and closed without any input from the public.

 

Agenda Item 4. Consideration of Porterdale Zoning Ordinance amendment to allow sexually oriented businesses in Light Industrial Zoning Districts.

 

Read aloud by Chair Ryan Barrett.

 

Motion 2 - was made by Marsha Sheets to recommend to City Council to approve the amendment to allow sexually oriented businesses in Light Industrial Zoning Districts and was seconded by Rick Vaida.

 

Motion passed unanimously.

 

Agenda Item 5. Board Training 2018

 

An email will go out with the dates of the next available training session.

 

Agenda Item 6. Invitation to the Planning and Zoning Board to Attend the Historic Preservation Month Ice Cream Social hosted by the Porterdale Historic Commission.


This event has been rescheduled and will update with new dates as soon as they are available.

 

Agenda Item 7. Staff Reports

Megan Reid and Willie Milligan gave brief staff reports on new businesses in the city and reported back from Council Meeting.

 

Agenda Item 7. Other Business

 

Rick Vaida informed members that CARE is accepting applications for Scholarships.

Motion 3- was made by Marvin Moore to adjourn and was seconded by Marsha Sheets.
