CITY COUNCIL CALLED MEETING

MINUTES

February 27, 2014

 

Presiding over the meeting was Mayor Arline Chapman.  In attendance were Council Members Anita Rainey – Post 1, Linda Finger – Post 2, Tim Savage – Post 3, Mike Harper- Post 4 and Lowell Chambers- Post 5.  Also in attendance were City Manager, Bob Thomson, City Clerk Megan Reid and City Attorney, Tim Chambers.

 

Agenda Item 1 - Call to order

Mayor Arline Chapman called the meeting to order at 6:30pm.

 

Agenda Item 2- Public Hearing for Beer and Wine and Distilled Spirits Pouring Licenses for DS Management, Deborah Taylor for 52 South Broad St, Suite 200, Porterdale, GA

 

There were no comments from the public.

 

Representatives from D.S. Management were available for comment. Ms. Debi Taylor introduced herself and explained the future plans of Porterdale Bar and Grill.

 

Agenda Item 3- Decision on Beer and Wine and Distilled Spirits Applications

 

Motion 1- was made by Council Member Mike Harper to approve the applications and was seconded by Council Member Linda Finger.

 

Motion carried unanimously.

 

Anticipated opening date is set for March 28, 2014

 

Motion 2- was made by Council Member Mike Harper to go into Executive Session for pending litigation and was seconded by Council Member Anita Rainey.

 

Motion carried unanimously.

 

Agenda Item 4- Executive Session

  • Pending Litigation

 

Motion 3- was made by Council Member Mike Harper to close the Executive Session and return to the Called Meeting and was seconded by Council Member Tim Savage.

 

Motion 4- was made by Council Member Tim Savage to charge the City Attorney to follow through on that particular agreement to make two payments of $3,500 six months apart and authorize the Mayor to execute any appropriate documents including the settlement and was seconded by Council Member Mike Harper.

 

Motion carried unanimously.

 

Agenda Item 5-Adjournment

 

Motion 5- was made by Council Member Tim Savage to adjourn and was seconded by Council Member Lowell Chambers.

 

Motion carried unanimously
